Randy and Stephanie Shillingburg have created a very attractive display of their intricate woodworking in the front room. Most people initially think their pieces are generated by a computer or laser, but all work is done by hand using a scroll saw, which can take from 3 hours to 7 days, depending on the piece. They cut and dry their own wood when available, which takes about a year to dry, and we use wood consisting of Oak, Spanish Cedar, Purple Heart, Sapelle, Pine and Cypress. Although many pieces look like they have been stained, it is actually the natural color of the wood, with a light coat of polyurethane added. They also have a new high gloss finishing processs.
